Who we are

Balmon Group is a firm of Chartered Accountants (SA) and Registered Auditors, registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA). We bring together audit-level rigour and practical, responsive support, so clients can meet statutory requirements and make confident financial decisions.

Our history and evolution

Established in 1953, Balmon Group has advised generations of businesses, families and professionals through shifting regulatory frameworks, economic cycles and technological change. Over more than seven decades, the firm has continually strengthened its capabilities, expanded its expertise and refined its service offering to meet the demands of an increasingly complex financial environment. As leadership has transitioned across successive generations of partners and directors, the firm has remained focused on continuity, governance and long term stability. Today, Balmon Group reflects a modern, forward looking practice built on enduring principles, integrity, technical excellence and disciplined execution, while preserving the heritage and professional standards that have defined the firm since its inception.

Our team includes Registered Auditors, Chartered Accountants (SA), Associate General Accountants (SA) and Professional Accountants (SA), supported by specialist tax and compliance capability across our practice areas. We also have a dedicated team of registered tax practitioners providing advisory and compliance services within a robust regulatory framework. As Registered Auditors regulated by the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors and members of SAICA and SAIPA, we operate in accordance with strict ethical, technical and independence standards.

Balmon Group is an accredited training facility and approved training office with SAICA, SAIPA and IRBA, supporting structured pathways toward registration as a Chartered Accountant (SA), Associate General Accountant (SA), Professional Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor, including completion of the Audit Development Programme within our firm.

Meet Our Leadership Team

Jason Bruhin

CA(SA) RA LLM

Jason began his journey toward becoming a Chartered Accountant immediately after matric. At 18, he started his SAICA internship while studying through the University of South Africa, completing his undergraduate degree three years later.

During his postgraduate studies, completed while working full time, Jason achieved results that placed him among the top performing candidates nationally, including being recognised as the leading audit student in South Africa in his final year. He completed his SAICA training contract at Mazars, one of the country’s largest audit firms, and was later appointed as an audit manager at JN Chartered Accountants at the age of 22.

At 24, Jason qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) having passed both SAICA’s board examinations on the first attempt. He subsequently completed IRBA’s Audit Development Programme and qualified as a Registered Auditor at 25. He was appointed as a partner at JN Chartered Accountants, now Balmon Group.

Jason also holds a Master of Laws degree, awarded cum laude, from the University of South Africa, where he graduated as the top performer in the College of Law.

Nelius van Zyl

CA(SA) RA

Nelius is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor with more than 15 years of experience in audit and advisory. He began his career after completing a BComm in Management Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch and initially lectured in Computerised Financial Systems at Boland College, while also serving as a marker for the Department of Education.

He joined JN Chartered Accountants, now Balmon Group, in 2009 and progressed rapidly into the firm’s management team. Nelius further strengthened his technical credentials through postgraduate diplomas in Accounting Sciences and Applied Accounting Sciences at the University of South Africa, graduating among the top students nationally. He achieved first time passes in both SAICA board examinations and completed IRBA’s Auditor Development Programme, qualifying as a Registered Auditor.

Nelius is known for his disciplined approach, high professional standards, and commitment to delivering consistent, high quality outcomes for clients.

Monique Terblanche

CA(SA) RA

Monique is a Chartered Accountant (SA), and Registered Auditor with extensive experience in assurance across a broad range of industries. She completed her BAccounting degree cum laude and BAccounting Honours at Stellenbosch University, passed both SAICA board examinations on first attempt, and subsequently completed IRBA’s Audit Development Programme.

She joined JN Chartered Accountants, now Balmon Group, in 2020 as an Audit Manager, where she built and led a growing portfolio of clients. In recognition of her technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to audit quality, she was appointed as Director in 2025.

Monique has a particular focus on specialised engagements, including legal practitioner trust audits, forensic assignments, and internal control assurance.

Jeandré Ludick

CA(SA) RA

Jeandre is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor with extensive experience in auditing and client services across a diverse range of industries. He is committed to delivering high-quality assurance services, providing strategic insight, and building lasting client relationships grounded in trust and technical excellence.

He obtained his Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Stellenbosch and further completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences through UNISA. Jeandre joined JN Chartered Accountants, now Balmon Group, in 2021, where he successfully completed his SAICA articles. Following his qualification, he continued to grow within the firm, contributing to both client service excellence and internal development initiatives. In January 2026, he was appointed as Director.

Jeandre is deeply passionate about auditing and is particularly driven by mentoring and developing the next generation of auditors and Chartered Accountants. He believes in fostering a culture of continuous learning, integrity, and professional growth within the profession.

Jennine Cronje

CA(SA) RA

Jennine began her professional journey with the firm in 2014 when she joined as a trainee accountant. Since then, she has qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor, and through dedication, consistency, and a willingness to take on different responsibilities, her role developed into her current position as director.

She completed her Bachelor of Accounting Science through UNISA and later continued with her Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences while working in practice, a journey that shaped her resilience and determination. Jennine also spent time living and working in Canada, which broadened her perspective and added to what she brings to her role today.

Jennine returned to Balmon Group in January 2024 with a deep appreciation for the firm’s people, culture, and clients. As a director, she brings technical skills, practical experience, and a sincere commitment to supporting both clients and team members.
